Now lets start with the basics:
The target of playing Roulette is to guess where the ball, that spins in the Roulette wheel, is going to land. The variation of playing your bets is enormous, you could either play a safe way or try to get a high ratio win out of a risky bet.

Playing Roulette online is really relaxing, you simply place the bet and then sit back and watch, having a perfect anonymity and private sphere, no danger running into Friends or Co-Workers. So, if the ball lands on one of the numbers you predicted, then you win. There are different strategies on how you can place bets, raise them stepwise etc. More Info’s about that here.

Lets have a look on some basic examples on how you could place a bet at the online Roulette table: At first you should learn about the straight-up bet, where you choose a single number on the field and place your coins. If the number you pick is the winning one then you get a return of 35 to 1:35 * 100$ = 3.500$

As next you should know about the split bet, place the coins on the lines between two numbers. When the ball lands on either of the numbers you targeted, a ratio from 1:17 gets paid: 17 * 100$ = 1700$.

The most basic bet is picking black or red, ratio 1:2. Doubles your bets, the most easiest betting strategy starts here, raising stepwise with 2.5 etc.

Roulette Probabilities

Roulette is a simple game played in most casinos, it contains a fixed set of probabilities with no real skill required to play the game.
In most parts of the world the roulette wheels have 36 numbers, one 0 and two 00, overall 38.
At the Europe wheel there are the same numbers, 1 through 36, but only a single 0.

Let’s have a look on the American Wheel:

We suppose you are betting on black. 18 of the 36 numbers of the roulette table are red and the other 18 are black. Only the 0 and 00 are green. On average, you will win 18 times out of 38, or your probability of winning is 18/38 = 9/19 = 0,474 which is slightly less than half.

Another typical 2:1 bet is to bet on a group of 12 numbers, you can do this by betting on a column of numbers. So overall you will win 12 times out of the 38 possible, for a probability of winning of 12/38 = 6/19 = 0,316.

You can calculate it for any other probability the same way. Just sum up how many of the results represent the win, and divide that by 38, on the European Wheel you divide it by 37. Multiply that value with 100 and you have the percentage.

If you only bet on a single number and the ball lands on that one, then you win with a ratio of 35 to 1. This happens once in 38 times / 37 times, but some people got very rich through this just having a lucky day.

Overall the house advantage is at around 5,2%, if you learn the betting strategies and tricks at roulette [link] you might be able to beat the bank almost daily!

Inside Bets:

  • Straight Up: a single number bet. The chip is placed entirely on the middle of a number square.
  • Split: a bet on two adjoining numbers, either on the vertical or horizontal (as in 14-17 or 8-9). The chip is placed on the line between these numbers.
  • Street: a bet on three numbers on a single horizontal line. The chip is placed on the edge of the line of a number at the end of the line (either the left or the right, depending on the layout).
  • Corner (or square): a bet on four numbers in a square layout (as in 11-12-14-15). The chip is placed at the horizontal and vertical intersection of the lines between the four numbers.
  • Six Line: a bet on two adjoining streets, with the chip placed at the corresponding intersection, as if in between where two street bets would be placed.
  • Trio: a bet on the intersecting point between 0, 1 and 2, or 00, 2 and 3.

Outside bets: typically have smaller payouts with better odds at winning.

  • 1 to 18: a bet on one of the first low eighteen numbers coming up.
  • 19 to 36: a bet on one of the last high eighteen numbers coming up.
  • Red or Black: a bet on which color the roulette wheel will show.
  • Even or Odd: a bet on an even or odd number.
